Based on the information collected from surveys carried out,
JIBs prime intention shall be focused on different types of
labor market programmes to facilitate re-employment and social
protection of retrenched workers:

Comprehensive re-employment support to retrenched
workers. Target workers shall get help earning through various
channels such as self-employment, microenterprise development and
linkage to enterprises willing to hire retrenched workers after
training (e.g. agroprocessing, information technology, etc.).

Labour information exchange. Link supply with demand
for labour through easy accessible information for job seekers,
including retrenched workers. Light industry and service sector
employers (e.g. knitwear, textile, pharmaceutical, food-processing
and other light industries) could publish job vacancies in a job
information system administered by JIBs, aiming an extensive
network. |

There are two Job Information Banks (JIB) at Dhaka and Khulna
providing the detail information and services of the existing
job market in the country. These JIBs also collect and store
detail information of the retrenched workers in the data bank
and also compile and develop for upgrading, prepares CVs for
them and also apply to potential employers on behalf of the
retrenched workers for job. The concerned officers of these JIBs
are also arranging fair to disseminate information regarding the
project and its activities to the retrenched workers and also to
the potential employers. The publicity activities of it also
includes distributing posters and leaflets among the public to
aware about this special project and the services it provides.
